Our Learn To Skate (Junior Club) Program is available to children, teens and adults. We offer classes and practice sessions for the basic beginner through basic free skate levels as well as hockey skills. Our classes are taught by professional coaches and run in 8 – 12 week sessions throughout the year. We also offer the opportunity for skaters to compete at our Annual Basic Skills Competition and perform at the Ice Spectacular show.
The North Shore Skating Club has a very active adult population and offers programs for every level of skater. We offer specific classes for Adults in our Saturday morning Basic Skills Program. We also have an award winning Adult Theatre on Ice Team, The North Shore Diamond Blades. As our adult skaters test through the levels of US Figure Skating, you will often find them on our senior club practice sessions. Many compete at local and national competitions and perform at exhibitions and shows. Many of our adults skaters also take advantage of our off-ice classes as well.
Our Senior Club is for skaters who are passionate about figure skating and want to explore beyond the basic group lesson experience. The North Shore Skating Club accepts skaters of all ages into the Senior Club who have passed the US Figure Skating Basic Badge Level 3, Adult 3, or ISI Advanced Pre-Alpha level or higher.
Theatre on Ice is the fastest growing discipline in figure skating as it combines showmanship, artistry and dramatic performance with ice skating. For singles skaters, it offers a team experience while emphasizing use of edges and teaching performance skills, which enhances the skater’s competitive edge.
Our teams practice weekly from September through June. They perform at our Annual Ice Spectacular and compete at the North Shore Open and the US National Theatre on Ice Competition.
All classes are taught at the Burbank Ice Arena, 51 Symonds Way, Reading, MA 01867
Classes on Saturday mornings & Thursday afternoons during school year.
Classes on Tuesday evenings during Summer.
North Shore Skating Club is excited to offer a Therapeutic Skating Program as part of our Junior Club classes. The program, which will begin in May, is a way for children and adults with disabilities to learn how to ice skate and to enjoy the benefits that ice skating offers.
